Home Uterine Monitoring.
What is home uterine monitoring? Home uterine monitoring is a way to monitor a pregnant woman's uterine contractions in her home. Doctors use this type of testing or monitoring when there could be a problem with premature labor.
How does home uterine monitoring work? A recording of uterine contractions is transmitted from the woman's home, via telephone, to a center where contractions can be evaluated. Your doctor may be able to view the recordings on his or her own home or office computer.
What does home monitoring cost? Costs vary but run about $100 a day.
