Delivery
The 9 months of your pregnancy are nearly over, and your baby will soon be with you. You may be happy that this time is near. You and your partner are probably looking for forward to being a family with your new baby. You may also feel a little anxious about your labor and delivery.
It's normal to feel this way. You will be going through an experience you may have heard described in many ways from friends and family. Some labor-and-delivery experiences you've heard about might have been a little scary to you.

The best advice we can give you is to relax. No one knows what's going to happen during labor and delivery; even medical professionals are sometimes surprised by what occurs. But if you open yourself up to the experience, it can be wonderful.

The end result of your pregnancy, and labor and delivery, is the birth of your baby. You are also an important part of this equation— we want you to be healthy and happy, too. Work with your health-care team to make this a positive experience. Learn what you need to know about being prepared, the medications you might be offered and any other concerns you may have. Before you know it, you'll be holding the baby you've been waiting so long to meet!
